If you are visiting the Badlands of South Dakota this is definitely the place to stay. Phil and Amy Kruse are the type of hosts that make you feel welcome and relaxed the minute you meet them. In spite of their busy schedule running a real working ranch and guest house, they always found time to chat with us about the history of the ranch, things to do and see in the badlands, or any topic. We had full access to the entire ranch for hiking, off road driving and bird watching. Our son was delighted by the various ranch animals, including Hank the dog (who is always eager to accompany guests on a hike) and especially the burros! The accommodations are clean, spacious and comfortable, and the breakfasts well prepared, delicious and original. We enjoyed socializing with the other guests on the spacious deck in the evenings, especially at sunset, or in the evening for star gazing. The ranch is located on a high bluff with a commanding view of the White River and valley beyond. Why stay at an ordinary motel when you can enjoy spending some time with local folks surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife for about the same price!

Hi there, Wishing you Happy Holidays. Jim and Ruth Ann are coming to the east to visit during the holidays. Its Winter once again and was wondering how you guys are doing. Jim and I would love to stop by again next year on the way to Sturgis. With the comments by Greg Kenny below you have to admit I make quality references. I should get cosideration with two shortcake breakfasts in a row next year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Steve and Jim Gawrylewski and the wives. PS Next time you cannot talk to the wives Amy--too much trouble.....

Dear Phil and Amy: We enjoyed ourselves so much and Al was so thankful I found you on the web. It was truly the highlight of our vacation. After we get back from the NASCAR race in Kansas City, I'm making your granola for our breakfast. Thank you again for a wonderful time and I'll be sure to tell everyone from here, if they head your way to stay with the cutest couple on the best ranch in South Dakota. Keep safe! Candy

The Circle View Ranch is the best place to stay in the Badlands area- even great access to Rapid City. Great Views, true western hospitality, gread food and a relaxing atmosphere. I played a concert in downtown Rapid City and stayed here, the "commute" was spectacular and worth it!

Phil & Amy...thanks again for the comfortable lodging, panaramic views, abundant breakfasts & great hospitality...thanks, too, for cooking up some 'oysters' for the NY and Calif folks. They were truly impressed with your operation & stories about ranchers vs big govt 'prarie' dogs. Til next time, stay busy & healthy............Mike & Judy Barber--Tampa

Just wanted to say thanks again for the great time we had. We are still talking about the great breakfast. I was wondering if you would share your sausage gravy recipe. I had never had it before and it was terrific!

Phil, Amy, Jane, Hank, Cowboy, Foster, Mama Burro and Duster, Thank you all for a wonderful stay at your ranch. For me "a cityslicker" it was a place to find tranquility and rest, something I yearn for. I wish I could have stayed an extra day just so I could have done nothing but sit in the rocker and watch your prairie. Your sunsets are amazing and I enjoyed watching the storm with everyone. The Bible blesses those with the spirit of hospitality: "Be hospitable to one another to one another...As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Peter 4:9, 10. Amy, you're a great cook. I never did get the recipe for your granola. In exchange would you be willing to share your strawberry/blueberry jam recipe with me. The only way my husband said he'll eat it is if it tastes like yours. Hopefully, Phil will allow one more secret recipe out. Wendi Girard
